A place where I explore ideas and dump my ramblings

My Love Letter to Crocs

These are the best shoes humanity has ever slapped together. Period. End of story. Change my mind.

No really though, I love my Crocs, i wear them for anything and everything i can get away with.

Taking out the trash? Crocs. Walking the dog? Crocs. Backpacking?!?!? CROCS.

They just serve every need in footwear a person could have (other than fashion i guess, But who needs that??). I mean they are comfortable, durable, waterproof. I’m surprised most modern militaries don’t have these as standard issue.

We all know the dramatic comeback story of the brand. How they had their brief heyday, followed by cultural backlash, and now are enjoying a resurgent golden age akin to 9th century Byzantium.

I’ve had my pair since about 2020 now and they are still going strong. Sure, there’s wear and tear, and any traction is a distant memory (especially on rainy days) but these babies still got some juice left in ’em. And i plan on riding these suckers all the way to the station!

But seriously i spent what, 50 buck on these things? and they have lasted longer than almost any other pair of shoes I’ve had. That’s what i call quality baby. and they are so dang comfortable! I once went on a two day backpacking trip with them and my feet never felt better. Goodbye overpriced boots. Hello rubber beauties.

So lets normalize crocs in every facet of society!

The office! weddings! funerals! the sky is the limit if we disregard silly things like looking fancy or “professionalism” (bleh!). It might take a few years on this front but I’m confident we will one day conquer silly little workplace/event clothing norms in the name of comfort.

So catch me outside getting the mail or running to grab something i forgot in my car wearing the greatest footwear known to humankind.

Party on
